The Bulgarian Cricket Team is a fledgling team which represents the nation of Bulgaria in International Cricket competitions. The game is well supported by ex-pats from the United Kingdom and is becoming more popular with the locals. There are teams in the capital Sofia and also in the city of Varna on the Black Sea.They were granted affiliate status in June 2008 by the ICC.Bulgaria took part in a European Twenty20 tournament held by Carmel & District Cricket Club in July 2009.
