General Winfield Scott is an equestrian statue of Winfield Scott by Henry Kirke Brown located at the intersection of 16th Street and Massachusetts Avenue at Scott Circle Washington D.C.Winfield was a United States Army general who served on active duty as a general longer than any other man in American history; many historians rate him the best American commander of his time. In 1852 he ran unsuccessfully as the U.S. presidential candidate of the Whig Party.
