Brevet Lt. General Winfield Scott is an equestrian statue of Winfield Scott by Henry Kirke Brown located at the intersection of 16th Street and Massachusetts Avenue at Scott Circle Washington D.C.Winfield was a United States Army general who served on active duty as a general longer than any other man in American history; many historians rate him the best American commander of his time. In 1852 he ran unsuccessfully as the U.S. presidential candidate of the Whig Party.
