Not to be confused with Breakcore.Breakbeat hardcore (a.k.a. oldskool rave hardcore) is a derivative of acid house and techno music of the late 1980s and early 1990s that combines four-on-the-floor rhythms with breakbeats and is associated with the UK rave scene. It was mainly the electronic group The Prodigy that brought the genre to prominence in the early 90s.
