Bradykinin is a peptide that causes blood vessels to dilate (enlarge) and therefore causes blood pressure to fall. A class of drugs called ACE inhibitors which are used to lower blood pressure increase bradykinin (by inhibiting its degradation) further lowering blood pressure.
