Bosnian Austrians (locally and colloquially known as Esterajheri) are citizens of Austria whose ancestry can be traced to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The vast majority of Bosnian Austrians emigrated to Austria during and after the Bosnian War of the 1990s though a large number of Bosnians emigrated as early as the 19th century. According to the last census conducted in 2002 the total number of Bosnians in Austria was 128047 and they comprised 1.6% of the total population.
