The Bnei Menashe (Hebrew: בני מנשה Sons of Menasseh) are a group of indigenous people from India’s North-Eastern border states of Manipur and Mizoram who claim descent from one of the Lost Tribes of Israel. Since the late 20th century they have been studying and converting to Judaism from Christianity which most of their ancestors had adopted in the nineteenth century.
