Bhumibol Adulyadej (Thai: ภูมิพลอดุลยเดช; RTGS: Phumiphon Adunyadet; pronounced [pʰuːmípʰōn ʔàdūnjādèːt] ; see full title below; born 5 December 1927) is the reigning King of Thailand. He is known as Rama IX.
