It was discovered by CKD Pharmaceuticals and is currently being developed by Zafgen.Beloranib an analog of the natural chemical compound fumagillin is an inhibitor of the enzyme METAP2. It was originally designed as angiogenesis inhibitor for the treatment of cancer.
