Bartholomew (Greek: Βαρθολομαῖος) was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus and is usually identified with Nathanael (alternatively spelled Nathaniel) who appears in the Gospel according to John as being introduced to Christ by Philip who would also become an Apostle.
