Baleka Mbete (born 24 September 1949) also known as Baleka Mbete-Kgositsile is a South African politician who was Deputy President of South Africa from 2008 to 2009. She was previously Speaker of the National Assembly of South Africa from 2004 to 2008.She was elected National Chairperson of the ANC in 2007 and reelected in 2012.
