Balanitis (/bæləˈnaɪtɪs/; from Greek: βάλανος balanos acorn) is inflammation of the glans penis. When the foreskin is also affected it is termed balanoposthitis.Balanitis on boys still in diapers must be distinguished from the normal redness seen in boys caused by ammoniacal dermatitis.
