Bahne Rabe (7 August 1963 Lüneburg Lower Saxony – 5 August 2001 Kiel) was a competition rower and Olympic champion for West Germany.Rabe won a gold medal in coxed eights at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul as a member of the rowing team from West Germany. He received a bronze medal in 1992. He was part of a rowing team that set a world record in 1991.[citation needed]Having ended his career in 1995 Rabe continued his strict exercise regimen while not taking in enough calories.
