The Azerbaijanis (/ˌæzərbaɪˈdʒɑːni/; Azerbaijani: Azərbaycanlılar آذربایجانلیلار) are the Turkic-speaking ethnic group living mainly in the two Azerbaijans (the Republic of Azerbaijan and Iranian Azerbaijan) as well as in neighboring states. Also referred to as Azeris (Azərilər آذریلر) or Azerbaijani Turks (Azərbaycan türkləri آذربایجان تورکلری) they live in a wider area from the Caucasus to the Iranian plateau.
