Avar (self-designation магӏарул мацӏ maharul macʼ [maʕarul mat͡sʼ] language of the mountains or Авар мацI awar macʼ [awar mat͡sʼ] Avar language) is a language that belongs to the Avar–Andic group of the Northeast Caucasian family.
