Asparaginase (EC 3.5.1.1 USAN) or Colaspase (BAN) is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of asparagine to aspartic acid. Asparaginases are naturally occurring enzymes expressed and produced by microorganisms.It is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines a list of the most important medication needed in a basic health system.
