Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC) or simply arthrogryposis describes congenital joint contractures in two or more areas of the body. It derives its name from Greek literally meaning curving of joints (arthron joint; grȳpōsis late Latin form of late Greek grūpōsis hooking).
