Argument (7 February 1977 – after 1996) was a French Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In his early racing career he showed consistent form and was placed in several important races but showed marked improvement in the autumn of 1980. He was considered an unlucky loser when narrowly beaten in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and then traveled to the United States where he won the Washington D.C. International Stakes. At the end of the year he was officially the best racehorse trained in France.
