The Asian Rugby Championship was an international rugby union competition held amongst Asian national rugby sides. The competition represented the highest tier of international rugby in Asia. The tournament began in 1969 and was later replaced in 2004 by the ARFU Asian Rugby Series.The last edition of the tournament was scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka during November 2006 however it was cancelled due to the political situation in the host country.
