Archie ‘Snapper’ Smith (born 16 February 1872) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Collingwood in the years following the formation of the VFL. Smith who played originally with Richmond in the VFA was Collingwood’s main target up forward during his career. He made his debut in the club’s inaugural VFL game and went on to top their goal-kicking in each of his first four seasons. His tally of 31 goals in 1898 was enough to win the VFL Leading Goalkicker Medal.
