António Ferreira Gomes (Milhundos Penafiel 10 May 1906 – Ermesinde 13 April 1989) was a Portuguese Roman Catholic bishop and is considered one of the most notable figures of Portuguese Catholic hierarchy in the 20th century. He was forced into a 10-year exile from Portugal due to his opposition of the fascist regime.[citation needed]
