His promising career was cut short due to in ring injuries suffered in a fight against Kid Lavigne in his home town of New Orleans. He was 27.Andy Bowen was undefeated going 13-0-2 in his first 15 fights.On April 6. 1893 Andy Bowen and Jack Burke were involved in the longest fight in history.
