András Hargitay (born 17 March 1956) is a former medley swimmer from Hungary who won the bronze medal in the men’s 400 m individual medley at the 1972 Summer Olympics. He finished fourth in the same event at the 1976 and 1980 Games missing the bronze medal by less than 0.3 seconds in both cases. In 1974 he set a new world record in the 400 m medley.He was named Hungarian Sportsman of the Year in 1975 after winning two gold medals at that year’s World Aquatics Championships.
