The American Century Championship is the premier celebrity golf tournament held during the second full week of July at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline Nevada on the shores of Lake Tahoe. The event is known not only for exciting golf but also as an opportunity for the public to mingle with celebrities and also a favorite event for autograph seekers. The course is at the southeast shore of Lake Tahoe at an average elevation exceeding 6230 feet (1900 m) above sea level.
