Alpheus Carey Morse (1818 – 1893) was a Providence Rhode Island based architect. Morse arrived in the city of Providence in 1853. Initially he was there to furnish designs for the house of a friend. This house was the Thomas F. Hoppin House built 1852-53. He had planned to return to Boston afterwards but he stayed. In 1857 he partnered with architect Clifton A. Hall in Morse & Hall a firm remembered solely for the Merchants Bank Building.
