In enzymology an alpha-tubulin N-acetyltransferase (EC 2.3.1.108) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reactionacetyl-CoA + [alpha-tubulin]-L-lysine CoA + [alpha-tubulin]-N6-acetyl-L-lysineThus the two substrates of this enzyme are acetyl-CoA and [[[alpha-tubulin]-L-lysine]] whereas its two products are CoA and [[[alpha-tubulin]-N6-acetyl-L-lysine]].This enzyme belongs to the family of transferases specifically those acyltransferases transferring groups other than aminoacyl groups.
