The All India Trinamool Congress (Bengali: সর্বভারতীয় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস; Hindi: सर्वभारतीय तृणमूल कांग्रेस; abbreviated AITMC TMC or Trinamool Congress) is a sub-national state-level (state party) ruling political party in West Bengal. Founded on 1 January 1998 as a breakaway faction of the Indian National Congress the party is led by its founder and current Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee.
