Ali Pasha’s Mosque was constructed in Sarajevo during 1560-61 as a vakuf (legacy or perpetual endowment) of Hadim Ali-pasha the former Ottoman governor of the Budapest administrative district (budimski begler-beg) and the Bosnia Pashaluk.
