Ali-Ai-Ligang (Assamese: আলি-আঃয়ে-লৃগাং) is a spring festival associated with agriculture specially with the beginning of the Ahu paddy cultivation. It is celebrated by the Mishing or Miri ethnic community of Assam India. The main objective of the festival is to pray to Mother-Earth for the production of ahu paddy. The name of the festival is made up of three terms ‘Ali’ root and seed ‘Ai’ fruit and ‘Ligang’ to sow.
