Alfonso d’Avalos Addressing his Troops (Spanish: Alocución del Marqués del Vasto) is a portrait of Alfonso d’Avalos by Titian painted in around 1540 and now held at the Museo del Prado in Madrid. It is not only a portrait but also a portrayal of d’Avalos’s speech to Spanish troops rebelling over pay in Milan in 1537 in which he offered his own son as a guarantee and by which he defused the situation.
