Alexander Goodwin Pierce is a fictional comic book character appearing in books published by Marvel Comics usually as a supporting character in stories featuring the U.S. espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D. of which Pierce is an agent.He is played by Robert Redford in the 2014 feature film Captain America: The Winter Soldier in which he functions as the villain and is secretly an agent of the terrorist organization HYDRA.
