The al-Bahr Mosque (Arabic: مسجد البحر Masjid al-Bahr Hebrew: מסגד הים Misgad HaYam English The Sea Mosque) is the oldest extant mosque in Jaffa Israel. It is situated on the Ha`aliya Hashniya harbor and therefore often referred to as the Sea Mosque. Due to its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea fishermen and sailors used the mosque as well as nearby inhabitants of the surrounding area.
