Ajam of Bahrain (Arabic: فرس البحرين‎) are an ethnic group in Bahrain composed of Shia Bahraini citizens of non-Arab Iranian origin (mainly Persian and Lurs). There is also a substantial community of Sunni citizens of Persian and Kurdish origin although they are not identified as Ajam. The number of Sunni Bahrainis of Persian and Kurdish origin is unknown.The Ajam are mostly bilingual in Persian (Ajami dialect) and Arabic.
