Affeton Castle is a surviving late-medieval gatehouse near East Worlington Devon England which overlooks the Little Dart River in Devon and was originally built from grey rubble stone by the Stucley Baronets in around 1434. Originally part of a large manor complex this castellated gatehouse 60 feet (18 m) by 22 feet (6.7 m) wide formed a major part of the defences of the house. The castle’s most notable former resident during the period was Thomas Stucley an Elizabethan traitor.
