ABS-CBN is a major commercial television network in the Philippines. It is the oldest and the leading television network in the country with an advertising revenue of ₱19 billion for the fiscal year 2012. It is a unit of the media conglomerate ABS-CBN Corporation. It was launched on 23 October 1953 under the name Alto Broadcasting System and is among the first commercial television networks in Asia.
