Abertillery and District Hospital was a community hospital in Aberbeeg near Abertillery with approximately 91 full and part-time staff. It was latterly operated by the Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board. It was founded in 1922 and closed in 2008.It had 52 beds in three ward areas: Gilbert Strachen Ward had 18 beds providing respite care long-term inpatient care and interim care to patients waiting to move to residential or nursing homes.
