Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Hamid Pawanteh (born 27 July 1944) is a former Malaysian politician. He was the President of the Malaysian Senate from 2003 to 2009 and was the Chief Minister of the State of Perlis from 1986 to 1995.He is married to Puan Sri Datin Seri Dato’ Elham Hamid Abdullah (née Elsie Sarstedt McCarthy.He received his higher education in Pakistan(back then it was still in India). He received government scholarship after he got good grades in local examination.
