A. B. Jackson (died 1981) was an African American painter. He was born in New Haven Connecticut and earned both BFA & MFA degrees from Yale studying with Josef Albers in the mid-1950s. Before entering the teaching field he worked for three years in the Watson-Manning Advertising Agency in Stratford Connecticut as a designer. Denied entry to the Virginia Beach Boardwalk Art show in 1962 because of his race he won best-in-show in 1966.
