9949 Brontosaurus is a main belt asteroid. It orbits the Sun once every 3.61 years.Discovered on September 22 1990 by E. W. Elst it was given the provisional designation 1990 SK6. It was later renamed Brontosaurus after Brontosaurus a deprecated genus of dinosaur now properly called Apatosaurus.
