9523 Torino (provisional designation: 1981 EE1) is a Main Belt minor planet. It was discovered by Henri Debehogne and Giovanni de Sanctis at the La Silla Observatory in Chile on March 5 1981. It is named after the Italian city of Turin (Torino) a significant center of the automobile and aerospace industries; it is also connected with several scientists including Amedeo Avogadro Joseph Louis Lagrange Galileo Ferraris and Nobel laureate Rita Levi-Montalcini.
