8604 Vanier (provisional designation: 1929 PK) is a main-belt minor planet. It was discovered by Charles J. Krieger at the Lick Observatory at Mount Hamilton near San Jose California on August 12 1929. It is named for Jean Vanier a Canadian philosopher theologian author and teacher.
