858 El Djezaïr is a minor planet orbiting the Sun. El Djezaïr is Arabic for Algeria (and Algiers its site of discovery). It is one of the three largest members of the Leto family (a small well-defined family of asteroids about 2.8 AU distant from the Sun) along with 68 Leto and 236 Honoria all of which are spectral type S.
