8540 Ardeberg (provisional designation: 1993 FK80) is a main-belt minor planet. It was discovered through the Uppsala-ESO Survey of Asteroids and Comets at the La Silla Observatory in Chile on March 17 1993. It is named after Arne Ardeberg professor emeritus of astronomy at Lund Observatory and director of the European Southern Observatory from 1979 to 1984.
