8147 Colemanhawkins (1984 SU3) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on September 28 1984 by B. A. Skiff at the Anderson Mesa Station of the Lowell Observatory. This object was named after Coleman Hawkins who is notable for popularizing the use of the tenor saxophone as a solo instrument.
