8131 Scanlon (1976 SC) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on September 27 1976 by E. F. Helin at Palomar.Named for Leo Scanlon an Amateur Astronomer co-founder of the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh or AAAP. Member of the Academy of Science and Art of Pittsburgh. [1]
