627 Charis is a minor planet orbiting the Sun that was discovered by German astronomer August Kopff on March 4 1907 from Heidelberg. It was named after the goddess Charis the wife of Hephaestus from Greek mythology.Photometric observations of this asteroid at the Organ Mesa Observatory in Las Cruces New Mexico during 2012 gave a light curve with a period of 27.888 ± 0.002 hours and a brightness variation of 0.35 ± 0.02 in magnitude.
