5259 Epeigeus (1989 BB1) is a Jupiter Trojan discovered on January 30 1989 by American astronomer Carolyn S. Shoemaker at Palomar Observatory. It is named after the Myrmidon Epeigeus.Photometric observations of this asteroid during 1995 were used to build a light curve showing a rotation period of 18.51 ± 0.03 hours with a brightness variation of 0.10 ± 0.01 magnitude.
