5074 Goetzoertel (1949 QQ1) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on August 24 1949 by the Indiana Asteroid Program at Goethe Link Observatory near Brooklyn Indiana. It was named for Goetz V. Oertel a president of the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy.
