5028 Halaesus (1988 BY1) is a Jupiter Trojan discovered on January 23 1988 by Shoemaker C. S. at Palomar.Photometric observations of this asteroid during 1996 were used to build a light curve showing a rotation period of 24.937 ± 0.015 hours with a brightness variation of 0.29 ± 0.01 magnitude.
