4946 Askalaphus (1988 BW1) is a Jupiter Trojan discovered on January 21 1988 by Shoemaker C. S. at Palomar.Photometric observations of this asteroid during 1992 were used to build a light curve showing a rotation period of 22.731 ± 0.018 hours with a brightness variation of 0.40 ± 0.01 magnitude.
