In enzymology a 4-nitrophenylphosphatase (EC 3.1.3.41) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction4-nitrophenyl phosphate + H2O 4-nitrophenol + phosphateThus the two substrates of this enzyme are 4-nitrophenyl phosphate and H2O whereas its two products are 4-nitrophenol and phosphate. This enzyme belongs to the family of hydrolases specifically those acting on phosphoric monoester bonds. The systematic name of this enzyme class is 4-nitrophenylphosphate phosphohydrolase.
